Grid Photo Splitter

Grid Photo Splitter for Android — package com.nexperlabmedia.gridsplit

Effective date: 2026-09-16 · Last updated: 2026-09-16

At a glance

Grid Photo Splitter cuts one photo into square tiles — 3×3, 3×2, 3×1, 2×2 or 1×2 — so you can post them as a grid or a carousel. You choose whether the photo is cropped to the grid or padded with a background colour, and the numbered tiles are saved as new files. All of it happens on your device. There is no account, no login and no developer-operated server; the app contains no network code of its own — the only components that use the network are the Google advertising and billing SDKs. The app declares no dangerous permission at all: the photo is chosen through the system photo picker, and the app never posts anything to a social network — you upload the tiles yourself, from your gallery.

Data sent to the developerNone. The developer operates no server for this app.
Account or sign-inNone.
Local dataYour settings only: the current grid layout and fit choice, your default layout and fit, the onboarding flag, a saved-tiles counter, the display language, and the ad-free and ad-frequency state — in the app's private storage on this phone. No photo is stored in them.
PhotosCopied into the app's own cache while you work, cut on the device, and written out only as new tile files you save or share. The original file is never modified, uploaded or posted.
Network useOnly the Google AdMob and Google Play Billing SDKs. The app itself makes no network request — no upload, no social-network posting.
Third partiesGoogle AdMob (banner and interstitial ads) and Google Play Billing (the ad-free purchase). No analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK.
Permissions declaredINTERNET, AD_ID, BILLING, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE. No dangerous permission: no camera, no microphone, no storage, no photo-library access, no location.

1. What the app stores on your device

Everything the app keeps is in its own private shared_preferences, on this phone only: the current editing state (split_config_v1 — grid layout, crop-or-pad choice, padding width, background colour and where the photo sits), your default layout and fit (default_mode_v1, default_fit_v1), the onboarding flag (onboarding_done_v1), a counter of how many tile sets you have saved (saved_count_v1), the display language you picked (app_locale), and the ad state (ad_free, lifetime_core_actions, interstitial_last_day — see the advertising section). One further key, seed_photo_v1, exists only for the developer's screenshot mode and is never written in the released app. The advertising consent choice is held by Google's consent SDK on the device.

No photo and no tile is written to those settings. None of it is transmitted to the developer, and there is no server-side copy of anything.

2. Photos and the photo picker

A photo reaches the app in one way only: you choose it through the system photo picker, which needs no permission and hands the app only the picture you selected — never your whole photo library. There is no in-app camera, and the app cannot browse your gallery.

The picture is copied into the app's own cache (the app's temporary directory) so the app can read it at full resolution while you work. The original file is opened for reading only; no code in the app writes to the original's path. The cache copy is transient: the system reclaims it when it clears the app cache, and it is never uploaded.

3. Splitting: what the app does with the picture

You pick a layout — 3×3, 3×2, 3×1, 2×2 or 1×2 (columns × rows; every tile is square, so the whole canvas is always in a columns-to-rows ratio). Then you choose how the photo meets that ratio: crop trims the photo so it fills the canvas, and you drag to choose which part is kept; pad keeps the whole photo and fills the rest with a background colour and an optional margin of up to 20% of the canvas. The preview and the export run the same geometry, so the lines you see on screen are the lines in the saved files.

On export the app renders each tile as a JPEG into its temporary directory and names it by upload order (01of09, 02of09, …), so sorting by name in your gallery gives the order to post. Every step is the app's own pixel arithmetic on the device: no face or object detection, no AI, no cloud processing — and the app does not sign in to, connect to, or post to any social network. Uploading the tiles is something you do yourself, in whichever app you choose.

4. What the app does not collect

The app does not request or read your name, email address, phone number, contacts, messages, calendar, location, camera or microphone, or any file outside the places described above. It has no account system, no sign-in and no cloud sync, and it contains no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. Apart from the requests the advertising and billing SDKs make, the app makes no network request at all — no photo and nothing you edit is ever sent anywhere, and the app never posts to any social network on your behalf.

Eight permissions are deliberately not requested — the picker and sharing libraries would otherwise merge them in, so the app's manifest strips them out with tools:node="remove": CAMERA, RECORD_AUDIO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED, ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION. They do not appear in the installed package: the system photo picker works without any of them, so the app never gets access to your whole photo library, and the picker strips the photo's location metadata before handing it over.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob) and consent

The app shows a banner ad and, occasionally, a full-screen interstitial through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The interstitial is not shown at all until you have completed five saves, and after that at most once a day (and never within 60 seconds of the previous one). To serve and measure those ads, Google may process your device's advertising ID (AD_ID), coarse device and network information, and ad interaction events. This happens inside Google's SDK; the developer does not see or store that data, and no photo and nothing you edit is given to it.

  • Google's handling of that data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and the Google Privacy Policy
  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app shows a Google-certified consent message (Google User Messaging Platform, UMP) before personalised ads are used. You can reopen it later from Settings → Privacy settings and change your choice.
  • You can reset or delete the advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops personalised advertising on the device.

6. Ad-free purchase

A one-time in-app purchase (grid_split_premium) removes the ads. The purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing: the developer never receives your card number, billing address or any other payment detail, and sees only Play's aggregated sales reports. The app stores locally whether the purchase is active, so ads stop showing. Restoring the purchase on another device is handled by your Google Play account.

7. Permissions

The app declares com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID and com.android.vending.BILLING itself. No dangerous (runtime) permission is declared at all: Android never shows a permission prompt for this app. Choosing a photo goes through the system photo picker, which needs none.

  • android.permission.INTERNET — the advertising and billing SDKs. Nothing else in the app uses the network.
  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE — merged in by the Google Mobile Ads SDK, Play services and the plugin libraries, to fetch and measure ads. The app does not use them itself.
  • com.android.vending.BILLING — the ad-free in-app purchase, handled by Google Play
  • DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION — an app-internal signature permission added by AndroidX so that only the app itself can talk to its own broadcast receivers. It grants access to nothing on your device.

8. Export, sharing and links

Export always writes new files, never the original. You can save them to your gallery — through Android's MediaStore, into an album named Grid Photo Splitter, under fresh names such as gridsplit_20260916_120000_01of09.jpg so the original file name does not travel with them — or hand them to Android's share sheet, where you pick the app that receives them; that app then handles them under its own privacy policy. Either way the files are rendered into the app's temporary directory first. Neither route needs a storage permission and neither passes through any server of the developer.

The app never opens a link by itself — an intent leaves the app only when you tap something, such as the feedback button (which composes an email in your mail app) or the link to this page. The <queries> entries in the manifest for https and mailto exist only so that Android 11 and later lets the app see that a browser or a mail app is installed.

9. Automatic backup

The manifest does not disable Android backup (allowBackup="true"). Under Android's default behavior, eligible local data — that is, the settings above — may be copied to your own Google-account device backup. The developer cannot access or control that copy. What is actually backed up depends on your device, vendor and Android version.

10. How long data is kept, and how to delete it

Settings stay until you change them. Working copies of photos in the app cache are transient and are reclaimed by the system when the app cache is cleared. Exported files are ordinary files in your gallery, or in whichever app you shared them to, and you delete them there. Clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app, removes all of the app's settings. Because nothing leaves the device, there is no other copy to delete.

11. Children

The app is not directed to children and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

If the app's permissions, SDKs or data practices change, this page and its “last updated” date will be revised.

Grid Photo Splitter

Grid Photo Splitter (Android) — 패키지 com.nexperlabmedia.gridsplit

선언 권한INTERNET, AD_ID, BILLING, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE.

앱이 보관하는 것은 모두 앱 전용 shared_preferences 안에, 이 기기에만 있다: 현재 편집 상태(split_config_v1 — 격자 배치, 자르기/여백 선택, 여백 너비, 배경색, 사진 위치), 기본 배치와 맞춤 방식(default_mode_v1, default_fit_v1), 온보딩 표시(onboarding_done_v1), 저장한 타일 세트 수 카운터(saved_count_v1), 사용자가 고른 표시 언어(app_locale), 광고 상태(ad_free, lifetime_core_actions, interstitial_last_day — 광고 절 참조).

여덟 가지 권한은 의도적으로 요청하지 않는다 — 선택기·공유 라이브러리가 그대로 두면 병합해 넣기 때문에 매니페스트에서 tools:node="remove"로 잘라낸다: CAMERA, RECORD_AUDIO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED, ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION.

일회성 인앱 상품(grid_split_premium)을 구매하면 광고가 사라진다.

7. 권한

앱이 직접 선언하는 것은 com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID와 com.android.vending.BILLING이다.

  • android.permission.INTERNET — 광고·결제 SDK.
  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE — Google Mobile Ads SDK·Play
  • com.android.vending.BILLING — 광고 제거 인앱 구매용.

Grid Photo Splitter

Grid Photo Splitter (Android) — パッケージ com.nexperlabmedia.gridsplit

宣言権限INTERNET, AD_ID, BILLING, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE。

アプリが保持するものはすべて、アプリ専用の shared_preferences 内、この端末内だけにある: 現在の編集状態 (split_config_v1 — グリッド配置、切り抜きか余白かの選択、余白の幅、背景色、写真の位置)、既定の配置とフィット方法 (default_mode_v1, default_fit_v1)、オンボーディングのフラグ (onboarding_done_v1)、保存したタイルセット数のカウンター (saved_count_v1)、選択した表示言語 (app_locale)、広告の状態 (ad_free, lifetime_core_actions, interstitial_last_day — 広告の節を参照)。

ピッカー・共有のライブラリが放置すると自動でマージするため、マニフェストで tools:node="remove" により削除している: CAMERA, RECORD_AUDIO, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED, ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION。

買い切りのアプリ内購入 (grid_split_premium) で広告が消える。

7. 権限

アプリ自身が宣言するのは com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID と com.android.vending.BILLING である。

  • android.permission.INTERNET — 広告・課金 SDK。
  • ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS, WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE — Google Mobile Ads SDK・Play サービス・プラグインライブラリが広告の取得と測定に使うもので、自動的にマージされる。
  • com.android.vending.BILLING — 広告除去のアプリ内購入用。

Grid Photo Splitter
