Travel Photo Stamp

Travel Photo Stamp for Android — package com.nexperlabmedia.tripstamp

Effective date: 2026-09-12 · Last updated: 2026-09-12

At a glance

This app adds a passport-style stamp with the place, the date and the trip onto your travel photos, and groups those photos into trips. It has no account, no login and no developer-operated server. Photos are taken or chosen, stamped and exported entirely on your device. Google AdMob (advertising) and Google Play Billing (the ad-free purchase) are the only third parties involved.

Data sent to the developerNone. The developer operates no server for this app.
Account or sign-inNone.
Local dataYour stamp settings, which landmark packs are enabled, whether location is used, the onboarding and location-warning flags, your trips, and the stamped photos' entries — file path, date, trip and the place name shown on the stamp.
PhotosStamped photos are written to the app's own private folder. A copy reaches your gallery or another app only when you tap save or share.
LocationOptional and off by default. Coarse location only, read once while the app is on screen and compared with landmark packs bundled in the app. Coordinates are never stored and never leave the device; only the chosen place-name text is saved.
Third partiesGoogle AdMob (banner and interstitial ads) and Google Play Billing (the ad-free purchase). No analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK.
Permissions declaredCAMERA, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, AD_ID, BILLING, INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, WAKE_LOCK

1. What the app stores on your device

Using shared_preferences in the app's private storage, the app keeps your stamp configuration, which landmark packs are switched on, whether location may be used, whether onboarding was completed, whether the location warning has been shown, the ad-free purchase and consent state, your list of trips, the active trip, and one entry per stamped photo — its file path, the date, the trip it belongs to and the place name that was stamped on it. The stamped JPEG files themselves live in the app's own private directory (a stamped folder), which no other app can read. None of this is transmitted to the developer.

2. Photos and camera

A photo enters the app in one of two ways. You can take one with the camera, which is what android.permission.CAMERA is for; the camera captures still images only, with audio disabled. Or you can pick an existing photo through the Android system photo picker, which hands the app only the photo you picked and needs no gallery permission at all — this is why READ_MEDIA_IMAGES is not requested.

Drawing the stamp and encoding the JPEG happen on your device. The finished image is written to the app's private folder, and goes to your gallery (through MediaStore) or to another app only when you tap save or share.

3. Place names and location

You can always type the place by hand, and that is what the app does by default. If you turn on Use location for places in settings — it is off until you switch it on — the app asks for the coarse-location permission and reads a single approximate position, requested at low accuracy with a twelve-second limit. It reads that position only while the app is on screen, once, when you are stamping a photo. There is no background location tracking: the app removes the location plugin's background service from its manifest, and does not declare ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION or any foreground-service permission. Denying the permission costs you nothing but the suggestion — you type the place instead.

There is no geocoder, no map tile and no network lookup of any kind. The coordinates are compared, inside the app, with landmark packs shipped as assets in the app itself (Seoul, Busan and Jeju in this version). The matching works in two steps:

  • First the app finds which enabled pack's bounding box actually contains your coordinates. If none does — anywhere outside the bundled regions — the result is an empty list and the app says there is no landmark pack for this area and asks you to type the place. It deliberately does not fall back to "the closest landmark anywhere", because that would stamp "Busan" onto a photo taken in Tokyo.
  • Inside a matching pack, the app measures the great-circle distance to each landmark and keeps only those within 2,000 metres, sorted nearest first (ties broken by English name so the list never reshuffles), and offers you up to five to choose from. Beyond that radius nothing is offered, because the app cannot honestly say you are at that landmark.

The coordinates are used for that comparison and then discarded. They are never written to storage, never attached to a photo and never sent anywhere — the only thing kept is the place-name string you accept, either the landmark you picked or the text you typed. If the permission is denied, the device's location service is off, or the reading fails or times out, the app quietly falls back to manual entry.

The place name is drawn into the picture. The stamp prints the place name onto the image itself, so anyone you send that photo to can read where it was taken. Only the name is printed — your exact coordinates are never saved or sent anywhere. The app shows this warning in-app before your first stamp, and reminds you again on the share screen.

The exported JPEG deliberately does not carry the original photo's EXIF metadata. A photo from a phone camera often has GPS coordinates in its EXIF, and copying them into the export would mean shipping exact coordinates alongside an image that was only supposed to show a place name.

4. What the app does not collect

The app does not request or read your name, email address, phone number, contacts, messages, calendar, precise location, or any file outside the places described above. It has no account system, no sign-in and no cloud sync, and it contains no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. Apart from the requests the advertising and billing SDKs make, the app makes no network request of its own.

Several permissions are deliberately not requested. The camera, sharing, photo-picker and location libraries would otherwise merge them in, so the manifest strips them out with tools:node="remove": RECORD_AUDIO (the microphone — the camera takes stills with audio disabled), READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (legacy shared-storage access), READ_MEDIA_IMAGES and READ_MEDIA_VIDEO (full photo-library access — the system photo picker works without them), ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION (precise location — picking a landmark does not need metre-level accuracy), and ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION, FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION (background location tracking, which this app does not do). They do not appear in the installed package.

5. Advertising (Google AdMob) and consent

The app shows a banner ad and, after a number of completed stamps, an occasional full-screen interstitial through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. To serve and measure those ads, Google may process your device's advertising ID (AD_ID), coarse device and network information, and ad interaction events. This happens inside Google's SDK; the developer does not see or store that data, and none of your photos, places or trips is given to it.

  • Google's handling of that data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and the Google Privacy Policy
  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app shows a Google-certified consent message (Google User Messaging Platform, UMP) before personalised ads are used. You can reopen it later from Settings → Privacy settings and change your choice.
  • You can reset or delete the advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops personalised advertising on the device.

6. Ad-free purchase

A one-time in-app purchase (trip_stamp_premium) removes the ads. The purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing: the developer never receives your card number, billing address or any other payment detail, and sees only Play's aggregated sales reports. The app stores locally whether the purchase is active, so ads stop showing. Restoring the purchase on another device is handled by your Google Play account.

7. Permissions

The app declares android.permission.CAMERA, android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID and com.android.vending.BILLING itself. The rest are merged in automatically by the libraries it uses:

  • CAMERA — photographing a landmark. Declared as an optional device feature, so the app still installs on devices without a camera.
  • ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — the optional landmark suggestion only, as described in section 3. Off by default, and never read in the background.
  • INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS — merged in by the Google Mobile Ads SDK, to fetch and measure ads
  • com.android.vending.BILLING — the ad-free in-app purchase, handled by Google Play
  • WAKE_LOCK — merged in by the libraries the app uses

8. Sharing and export

Sharing goes through Android's share sheet: you pick the app that receives the image, and that app then handles it under its own privacy policy. Saving goes to your gallery. Neither route passes through any server of the developer. Remember that the place name stamped on the picture travels with it.

9. Automatic backup

The manifest does not disable Android backup (allowBackup="true"). Under Android's default behavior, eligible local data may be copied to your own Google-account device backup. The developer cannot access or control that copy. What is actually backed up depends on your device, vendor and Android version.

10. How long data is kept, and how to delete it

Settings, trips and photo entries stay until you change or delete them; deleting a stamped photo in the app removes both its entry and the file in the app's private folder. Copies you already saved to the gallery or shared stay where they are. Clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app, removes all of the app's own data; photos already saved to the gallery are not removed by uninstalling, because they belong to you, not to the app.

11. Children

The app is not directed to children and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

If the app's permissions, SDKs or data practices change, this page and its “last updated” date will be revised.

CAMERA, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, AD_ID, BILLING, INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, WAKE_LOCK

카메라로 새로 찍을 수 있으며 android.permission.CAMERA는 이때만 쓰인다.

카메라·공유·사진 선택기·위치 라이브러리가 그대로 두면 병합해 넣기 때문에, 매니페스트에서 tools:node="remove"로 잘라낸다: RECORD_AUDIO(마이크 — 카메라는 오디오를 끈 채 정지 사진만 찍는다), READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE·WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE(구형 공용 저장소 접근), READ_MEDIA_IMAGES·READ_MEDIA_VIDEO(사진 전체 접근 — 시스템 사진 선택기는 이 권한 없이 동작한다), ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION(정밀 위치 — 명소 하나를 고르는 데 미터 단위가 필요 없다), 그리고 ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION·FOREGROUND_SERVICE·FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION(이 앱이 하지 않는 백그라운드 위치 추적).

일회성 인앱 상품(trip_stamp_premium)을 구매하면 광고가 사라진다.

7. 권한

앱이 직접 선언하는 것은 android.permission.CAMERA, android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID, com.android.vending.BILLING이다.

  • ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — 3항에서 설명한 선택적 명소 제안에만 쓴다.
  • INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS — Google Mobile Ads SDK
  • com.android.vending.BILLING — 광고 제거 인앱 구매용.

CAMERA, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, AD_ID, BILLING, INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, WAKE_LOCK

カメラで新たに撮る場合に android.permission.CAMERA を使う。

カメラ・共有・写真選択ツール・位置情報のライブラリが放置すると自動でマージするため、マニフェストで tools:node="remove" により削除している: RECORD_AUDIO(マイク — カメラは音声を無効にして静止画のみ撮影)、READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE・WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE(旧来の共有ストレージ)、READ_MEDIA_IMAGES・READ_MEDIA_VIDEO(写真全体へのアクセス — システム写真選択ツールはこれなしで動作する)、ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION(正確な位置 — 名所を 1 つ選ぶのにメートル単位は不要)、および ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION・FOREGROUND_SERVICE・FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION(本アプリが行わないバックグラウンド位置追跡)。

買い切りのアプリ内購入 (trip_stamp_premium) で広告が消える。

7. 権限

アプリ自身が宣言するのは android.permission.CAMERA、android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION、com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID、com.android.vending.BILLING である。

  • ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — 第 3 項の任意の名所提案にのみ使用。
  • INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS — Google Mobile Ads SDK
  • com.android.vending.BILLING — 広告除去のアプリ内購入用。

Travel Photo Stamp

Permisos declaradosCAMERA, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, AD_ID, BILLING, INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, WAKE_LOCK

5. Publicidad (Google AdMob) y consentimiento
